The holiday season is upon us and I don’t know about you but I LOVE gift guides. Some people are just really hard to shop for or I don’t have any great ideas so I look to trusty Google and bloggers that I follow to give me some unique gift ideas. I thought I would share with you some gift ideas for those who are travel obsessed (like myself).
Just a little disclaimer: the following links are part of the Amazon Associates program so I will get a commission if you buy the product through the link. However, with that being said, this blog post is strictly to give you ideas of what to get your travel obsessed person, by all means shop around and purchase the item from wherever you please! 🙂 Underneath all of the photos I have included links to Amazon Canada, Amazon US, and Amazon UK.
1. Scratch Map.
This first item I actually have and I LOVE it. I put it up in my room and I have been slowly but surely scratching off the places where I have traveled. It’s not pricey at all which makes it a great stocking stuffer or secret santa gift. I believe this map comes in black & gold as well as white & gold.
2. Travel Journal
In today’s day and age, it’s so easy to just try and document your travels in your smartphone or on your laptop. However, there is something so soothing and gratifying about putting pen to paper and actually writing down stories about your travels that are for your eyes only. Plus, it’ll be great to look back on these stories when you’re older, when computer files may have been lost or are not compatible with future technology.
3. Waterproof Pouch
This one is specifically for your phone (and I was able to fit some cash in it too). It’s great because it not only keeps out water, but sand as well. Water proof phone cases get sand caught around the edges which bothers me to no end. This pouch is perfect because it comes with an arm-band and a lanyard so that you can wear it either around your arm or around your neck. You can even use the phone while it’s in the pouch! The pouch is touch-sensitive which is perfect for taking photos on top or underneath the water!
4. Extra Battery
Now, obviously, you can get more heavy-duty external battery packs out there, but I like this one because it’s small enough that I can throw it into my purse and not worry about it. It’s literally the size of a lipstick tube. It has enough power to give your phone a boost, which is one of the most important things to keep charged at all times. This makes the perfect stocking stuffer.
5. Passport Case
I used to think these were really dumb because like why would you need to put a case around something that you open up once or twice on your trip. TURNS OUT you do so to lessen the chance of the passport being ruined while on vacation. Note to self, just throwing the passport in your bag will cause some very unsightly creases. A lot of these cases also have space for cash, your boarding pass, and other documents which is super handy.
6. Portable Speaker
There’s nothing like jamming to some of your own music while you’re laying on the beach or getting ready to see some sites. A portable speaker is a great asset while on a trip, especially when you need something familiar to listen to. It’s also great if you want to watch a movie with someone that’s on your laptop or iPad and you need a little more volume.
7. Filtered Water Bottle
There’s nothing like having access to your own water while you’re out sight-seeing and not having to drop upwards of $3 on a bottle of water. This Brita water bottle I actually use every day at home and I LOVE it. I don’t know about you guys but I don’t like the taste of some tap water, but because this water bottle has a filter in it, it just tastes like Brita water (if you know what I’m talking about)! Again, a great stocking stuffer.
8. Luggage Tags
I am all about these stocking stuffers! Again, I used to think luggage tags were dumb until I realized that if you stick a cute luggage tag on your luggage, you’ll be able to spot it more easily at the carousel! There’s nothing I hate more than waiting for your luggage and thinking that it got lost but it’s really just going around and around the carousel because you thought that it was someone else’s (seriously happened). A cute luggage tag now prevents that from happening again!
9. Memory Box
This is literally the cutest. I know that I am a person who saves almost everything from my travels; ticket stubs, boarding passes; menus – you name it. These boxes are so cute that I think I’m going to have to upgrade to them from my literal shoe boxes that are continuously falling apart. These boxes aren’t just cute, they serve a purpose! Keeping all of your memories in one place saves you from misplacing important trinkets.
Not just any jewelry though, jewelry that reminds them of where they have been or where they haven’t been yet.
I hope these ideas help! A lot of them would make great stocking stuffers or gift add-ons while some others make great stand-alone gifts!
