Mornings are, arguably, the most important part of your day. Depending on how you start your morning, your day is either going to take on a positive or negative tone. Here are 5 ways to ensure that you start your day off positively!
1. Drink water.
Drinking a glass of water should be the first thing you do when you get out of bed. This ensures that the first thing you are putting into your body is beneficial. Your body is dehydrated from your sleep so drinking a glass of water is a great way to get your system running again. So before you group that cup of coffee, drink that glass of water.
If only for the first 2 minutes that you wake up, lay with your thoughts. Think about what you have to do for the day or what you dreamt of the night before, it doesn’t matter, just let your mind wander. Taking these 2 minutes to reflect awakens the mind.
I’m a big believer in morning showers, they wash away everything from the day before (both literally and metaphorically). Showering invigorates your body and really wakes you up. Having a shower in the morning ensures you are beginning your day as fresh as possible.
Eating in the morning fuels your body for the rest of the day. If you’re like me and can’t stomach eating food as soon as you wake up, make a smoothie and drink it on the go or even when you get to work. Just eat something.
Before you leave the house for the day, look in the mirror and smile. I promise you, it will allow you to begin your day more positively.
