The moment everyone has been waiting for (since the VS fashion show) is here! Miss Selena Gomez has finally released the anticipated music video for Hands to Myself and IT IS EVERYTHING. Girl is a BOMBSHELL. I mean we already knew that but this video is drool-worthy. And the man candy in the video isn’t so bad either.
Alessia Cara is a fresh-faced, mega-talented “new” artist from none other than Brampton, Ontario. I don’t know her personally but I can honestly say I have such pride when I see how far she has come since posting her first videos on YouTube. This girl. Is. Killing it. From performing her first single Here on-stage with Taylor Swift on the 1989 World Tour to releasing her first album Know-It-All, Alessia Cara is just getting started.
Ok, how obsessed is everyone with this album. Like I’m whitegirling cause I can’t even. This album is fantastic from beginning to end. I don’t know if it’s just me but this album has a totally different vibe and musicality than her other albums. It sounds more mature and more versatile. My favourite song would definitely be When We Were Young closely followed by Remedy. It really is so hard to pick a song that I like the most because they are all equally as brilliant.
There has been A LOT of new music and music videos released in the past week but I wanted to highlight Justin Bieber’s music specifically. His new album Purpose will be released next week and so far, it looks EXTREMELY promising. Justin Bieber’s songs are always catchy but I like when we puts depth into his lyrics that enable you to actually feel an emotion (rather than just wanting to dance your butt off).
Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the release of Taylor’s 1989 and the record is still KILLING it. 1989 is the fifth album EVER to spend the entire year in the Billboard 200’s Top 10. This album was a major turning point for Taylor musically as it marked her first FULL album in pop music and it certified and solidified her as a major pop-star. 1989 was everything that her fans were expecting and more. She took her songwriting abilities and her musicality and her vocals to an entirely different level and I think she was able to reach out to a larger audience through this record.
