This past weekend I got to do something that I have been wanting to do for a long time – go for Afternoon Tea. I wanted to make sure that my first time doing this was done proper so I did some research and came across The Prince of Wales in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
I really want to try and remain consistent with my blog posts, only posting on Mondays and Fridays from now on, however, today is Bell Let’s Talk Day. For all of you non-Canadians, the telecommunication company Bell Canada has allotted January 27th of every year as Bell Let’s Talk Day and for every phone call, text message, or hashtag of #bellletstalk, the company will donate $0.05 towards mental health initiatives. Their goal is to end the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Since this campaign began in 2010, Bell has raised over $100 million towards mental health initiatives in Canada.
So, a few months ago I made a short trip from Toronto to Ottawa and I flew there via none other than Porter Airlines. There were a few reasons I chose this airline: (1) The flight times were better than the Air Canada alternative, (2) They flew out of the city centre instead of Pearson which is not easily or conveniently accessible by any public transportation from Hamilton, and (3) I had recalled all of their advertising that emphasized the “Porter experience” and I wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. Did it ever.
Happy Halloween everyone! I am so happy that I did this tour because it gives me something to write about in honour of Halloween! I’m also glad I did it because it was really cool and fun and is something I would definitely recommend if you are in Ottawa.
So today I thought I would get a little personal in my blog post and share with you all why I travel. I know what some of you are thinking: “Obviously you travel to see new places.” Well that’s partly the reason but there are so many other things about travelling that entice me.
