Well the iHeartRadio Music Awards were last night and as always it was a star-studded affair.
While I didn’t watch it live, I caught the highlights and performances online. So I have corralled all my favourite performances from last night and put them all on one page. Let me tell you, it was harder than it should be to find links from last nights performances (what the hell YouTube). They are in no particular order.
The first performance I want to talk about is Rihanna’s. It’s been a minute since we heard new music from the OG bad gal (aside from 4 5 Seconds, what does that even mean btw). She debuted her new song Bitch Better Have My Money (BBHMM). The performance was sexy and everything you expect from RiRi. However, what is with the fuzzy green jacket & matching boots?? Anyways, check out the performance below!
Next up, Iggy Azalea & Jennifer Hudson’s performance of Trouble was everything fierce. I am a HUGE fan of the Aussie rapper and thought this performance was one of her better ones. Jennifer Hudson can sing her ass off every single performance, it amazes me. Both ladies looked hot in jailbird themed outfits.
Sam Smith performed the melodious hit Lay Me Down. This song is EVERYTHING. It is so soothing and so emotional. He begins singing it totally a-capella, and then the piano comes in and CHILLS TAKE OVER MY BODY. He is flawless. Unfortunately you have to click on the link to view it as embedding was disabled for this video (booooo).
Now I have to forewarn you, I am not a fan of Madonna. I can appreciate her music and her talent as a performer but I don’t and never have actively listened to her music (aside from the covers Glee did). However, her performance last night of her new single Ghost Town was nice. Her vocals fell a little flat at points but overall it was a nice performance. It also helped that Taylor Swift accompanied her on stage playing guitar! Both ladies looked lovely.
Meghan Trainor delivered a lovely retro performance of her single Dear Future Husband. It reminded me very much of Christina Aguilera’s Candy Man days. The performance was fun, up-beat, and Meghan was able to deliver quality vocals.
OG American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson graced us with a performance of her new single Heartbeat Song. I personally love this song, it’s catchy, upbeat, and fun! Kelly as always delivered stellar vocals, I mean there’s a reason she won American Idol and continues to be successful!
My favourite country boys Florida Georgia Line delivered a fun and laid-back performance of their song Sun Daze. I can’t wait until summer is here and I can roll down my windows and crank this song on full blast!
Everyone’s favourite JoBro, Nick Jonas, gave us an excellent performance of his single Chains. HIS FALSETTO IS TO DIE FOR. Honestly though, I couldn’t take my eyes off him the entire time, he is just too good looking.
Lastly, we have Nate Reuss and Queen performing a rendition of Somebody to Love. Nate Reuss did justice to the song and would do Freddie Mercury proud.
Well that’s it for today, I know it’s a long post but there were so many great performances! I didn’t even include them all there was so many.
P.S HOW GREAT DID TAYLOR LOOK LAST NIGHT.
Congrats lady on your awards for Best Lyrics (for Blank Space) and Artist of the Year!
