Alessia Cara is a fresh-faced, mega-talented “new” artist from none other than Brampton, Ontario. I don’t know her personally but I can honestly say I have such pride when I see how far she has come since posting her first videos on YouTube. This girl. Is. Killing it. From performing her first single Here on-stage with Taylor Swift on the 1989 World Tour to releasing her first album Know-It-All, Alessia Cara is just getting started.
Know-It-All is everything that I was dreaming it would be. Every song on this record is a hit. Not only is the musicality and the production of each song so seamless, her record also tells a story with every song you listen to. From ballads like River of Tears, to the cutesy sort-of-love-song I’m Yours, Alessia entrances you with her stunning vocals and her unique sound. I really can’t sing this girl’s praises enough.
The fabulous Taylor Swift actually sat down and talked with Alessia about her new album and you can watch Part One of that interview here, Part Two here, and Part Three here. In the interview, Alessia actually reveals that the people who were in her music video for Here were the actual people who were at the lame party in real life.
Another one of my favourites off the album is Wild Things. It’s about being yourself and just doing you. Her live performances are always on point and this one is no different.
And to close out this post, she recently performed at KiSS 92.5 in Toronto and SLAYED it with a killer rendition of Levels by Nick Jonas. I died when I was listening to it for the first time on the radio.
By now, I know you have to be just as blown-away with this tiny powerhouse as I am. And since that’s the case, you can pick up her fresh album Know-It-All here on iTunes.
